Springfield Wesley Alumni
Kara Eidson

Hey Everyone! Things
are going great at Duke. My classes are definitely very challenging,
but I am learning so much! I have started my field education
assignment for the year, which is an internship in a local church
through the school. I am the student intern pastor at Acts United
Methodist Church in Apex, North Carolina. (Apex is about a 45
minute drive south of Durham.) The church’s pastor, Dennis,
was commissioned to start the church last June, so it is a brand
new church. We are still looking for a location to begin Sunday
worship, and we meet on Thursday nights for Bible study right
now. If you want to check out the website, it’s http://actschurch.us.
My job there is sort of whatever the church needs me to do—but
it’s an awesome ministry opportunity and I’m very
excited about it. Keep me updated on what’s going on with
all of you!
Blessings,
Kara

I've been having a great summer, and will be helping out at
camp for 4th and 5th graders with some of my fellow Wesleyans
for the last week in July. I will be attending Duke Divinity
school in the fall to pursue my Masters of Divinity, in the
process of becoming an ordained elder in the Methodist church.
I'm going to be living in an apartment off campus for the first
time ever, so I'm very excited about that. I'll be heading for
North Carolina on August 1, and can't wait to see what God has
planned for this next phase in my life!
