Sophomore

Favorite Bible Verse: Ephesians 2:10 "For
we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do
good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do"
Background: Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana,
I moved to Saint Louis when I was 17. God has really challenged
me through out my life, and there have been times where
I didn't want anything to do with him. But every time, God
always found somthing or someone to bring me back into his
loving arms, and I pray that I can have that same impact
on others who are struggling in their Christian walk.
Importance of Wesley: Its where I live!
But seriously, Wesley has been the constant the helped me
through my freshman year. Its a place where I feel I can
truely be myself and praise the Lord with all my heart.
Wesley also provides a group of strong Christians who are
always willing to support you in your Christian walk.

| Vice President, Board Member
Name: Shaun Tooley
Major/Year: City and Regional Planning,
2008
E-mail: Tooley301@missouristate.edu
Favorite Bible verse: Romans 12:2
Background: I am from the St. Louis region.
I grew up at Arlington UMC in Bridgeton, MO. My parents
divorced when I was eleven years old. My father still took
my brothers and I to church, but I also wanted to know more
about my mother's side of the family and their faith. From
fifth grade until my confirmation retreat in seventh grade
at Arlington I explored Judaism. I visited reform, conservative,
and orthodox synagogues. I took classes in Hebrew, learned
about the traditions, and bought a prayer book for prayers.
I was forced into confirmation into the Methodist church
and on the retreat my life changed. I accepted Christ into
my heart. I may be born, raised, and dedicated to the Methodist
church but I have been influenced by and understand Judaism
on a different level than my peers. Since confirmation I
became an outgoing and sociable person from a shy one. I
joined my mid-high youth group and continued with senior
high youth group. I went on five mission trips at Arlington
with the youth group and have been changed by each one.
I came to college knowing I would join Wesley and continue
to grow in my faith and let Wesleyian social principles
be the foundation of my profession. I only hope and strive
to remain faithful as life continues.
Importance of Wesley: The Wesley Foundation
is not only where I live but the place where I am challenged
to be more Christlike. The Foundation offers Bible studies,
covenant (prayer) groups, fellowship, worship, and a community.
I enjoy the community most. It also is instrumental in teaching
me to have a Christ centered life and profession.
Favorite ice cream flavor: Crown Candy
Kitchen in North St. Louis City is my favorite place for
ice cream, malts, and chocolate. A chocolate banana malt
is the best!

Favorite Bible verse: Jeremiah 20:9 Deuteronomy
10:12 John 14:6
Importance of Wesley: Deuteronomy 10:12
calls us to "...fear the Lord your God, to walk in
all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your soul..." Wesley
is the place, while I am away at college, that helps me
to keep that fear of the Lord, to walk in the ways that
He leads me, and to serve him with all that I am. Secondly
it gives all of us at Wesley the resources and ability through
God to reach out to others and share God's love with them!
Favorite Ice Cream: Mint chocolate chip
or Cookie dough (that's a tough call)

Name: Andrea Robinett
Major/Year: Computer Information Systems,
Senior
Email: andrea854@missouristate.edu
Favorite Bible verse: Romans 12:2
Background: I am from Jefferson City and I literally
grew up in the church because I went to day care at my church
since I was 6 months old. Since then I have lived a normal
life as an only child. I played the piano for 10 years and
tap danced for about 7 years and was active in my church's
youth group. Because of my youth group, I came to SMS searching
for a campus ministry and found Wesley.
Importance of Wesley: The Wesley House has become
very important in my college life. It is where I go to see
my friends and most importantly to grow closer to God.
Favorite Ice Cream: I have recently discovered
an ice cream entitled "Bunny Tracks" which has
chocolate and peanut butter bunnies with thick ribbons of
chocolate. |

Name: Emily Dougherty
Major/Year: Spanish/Senior
Email: Emily727@missouristate.edu
Favorite Bible Verse: They change all the
time, but today they are: Joshua 3:9-16, Colossians 3:23,
1 Timothy 4:12 and anything about places we went to in Israel.
(Yeah, I know that narrows it down a little:)
Background: I was born in the middle of
nowhere in Kansas, but I grew up in Springfield. I started
going to church with my dad and brother when I was in first
grade and have been there ever since. My faith really took
off in middle school and high school under the guidance
of my best friend/youth pastor, who also helped me see my
calling to work in youth ministry. I went to Mizzou for
my freshman year of college, but I realized it wasn't where
God wanted me to be, so I transfered to MSU and I love it.
Importance of Wesley: I had been involved
with Wesley in Columbia and I knew it was something I wanted
to be a part of here at MSU too. At Wesley I can challenge
myself to grow in my faith, and I can't imagine my life
without the amazing friends I've made here. It has given
me a place to belong unlike anything else I've ever experienced.

Favorite Bible Verse: Because I am such
a worry wart, I often repeat to myself Matthew 6:34 “Therefore
do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about
itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Background: God has blessed me with a wonderful
family, and he has placed wonderful friends in my life to
help me with my walk with Christ. Although I did grow up
going to church on Sundays, it was not until my senior year
of high school that I dedicated my life to him.
Importance of Wesley: Wesley has helped
me mature in my walk so far and I have no doubt that this
foundation will continue to help me.
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Vanilla ice
cream with crushed up M&M on top

Major/Year: Communications/Freshman
Email: sweetglitterbug@yahoo.com
Favorite Bible Verse: Matthew 5: 13You
are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness,
how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for
anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. 14You
are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to
everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light
shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and
praise your Father in heaven.
Background: I was born in Illinois and
have since moved around a lot to land me in St. Charles,
MO for the last 5 years until I came to Springfield. Moving
has been a big part of my life, and God has really used
these experiences to shape who I am today. I’ve always
been really involved in the Methodist church and I’m
really passionate about all the things going on there. Ever
since I went on my first chrysalis flight, I’ve really
been seeking a relationship with Christ, and I’ve
grown so much with Christ since then.
Importance of wesley: I felt like it was
the natural thing to do to get involved with wesley as a
freshman. I wasn’t really interested in greek life
sororities, but I was interested in finding people who I
could be really great friends with and who really loved
Christ.
Favorite ice cream flavor: chocolate all

)
Major/Year:Wildlife Biology/Freshman
Email: kathleen55@MissouriState.edu
Favorite Bible Verse: Honestly, I don't
have one atm-the whole things great!
Background: I was born in California and
lived in Merced until I was about 5, then moved to Sarcoxie,
Missouri with my mom and have been living there up until
now! We couldn't really get to the church and when we did
we didn't feel really welcome (it was full of regulars and
it seemed like you had to pick one church and go there or
you really were commiting "treason"-but aren't
all churches houses of God? Even if you just read the Bible
outside you are surrounded by Him and His creation) so I
really haven't gone to church much, but I am hoping that
will change.
Importance of Wesley: Wesley seems like
a great support group and also a great way to focus more
on God. I haven't had a chance to go to a Wesley service
yet (Sunday will be my first one) but I'm really looking
forward to it.

Name: Katie Bradley
Major/Year: Undecided/Junior
Email:bcoderite@aol.com
Favorite Bible Verse: Have lots of 'em..here
are a few: Philippians 4:13, 2 Corinthians 5:19, 1 Corin.13:13,
Galations 6:10, Micah 4:3...
Background: Well, I've lived in Springfield
my whole life and have been attending OTC since 2003 (seeking
a transfer degree). I grew up in the Methodist church since
I was little yet a lot of my life I was confused about what
it meant to be a Christian. Through high school I went through
a few big challenges that made me question the existence
of God, with whom I found myself really struggling with
over time while resisting those who tried to witness to
me.Over time, I came to understand that each of the challenges
helped shape me into a stronger, wiser person and no longer
felt angry at God while starting to open up to Him more
up to when I accepted Him as my Heavenly Dad. These past
couple of years, I've found myself growing quite a bit in
my faith between getting through college and taking risks
for God, but having a supportive network of other Christian
friends (many of which I'd met through the Wesley House
and other campus ministries) has really helped me in my
walk.
Importance of Wesley: Providing an atmosphere
where people can receive acceptance, accountability and
support while being able to come together as a group to
service those in need in the world.
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Anything Ben
& Jerry's!!:) (ok-specifically-their Strawberry Cheesecake
or Peanut Butter Cups) |

Major: Nursing
Year: Junior
Email: sl0187301@otc.edu
Favorite Bible Verse:It changes for me
but one of my favorite that I like to always go back to
is Psalm 37:4
Background: I have lived in Springfield
most of my life with my parents and my older brother. I
go to OTC and will transfer after this year. Not sure yet
where I will transfer though. I have grown up in a Methodist
Church my whole life but never truely gave my lofe to God
until the end of my freshman
year of high school. When I started college I knew that
I wanted to find a ministry and a friend invited me to Wesley
and I have been truely blessed to
find place like Wesley.
Importance of Wesley: Wesley is important
to me because I wanted a place where I could come and grow
in my faith and be able to have friends to fall
back on when I need them. Wesley has giving that and much
more than I ever expected.
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Cookies and
cream or Chocolate Brownie.
