| This
is the current building of San Pablo United Methodist Church.
It is just a house, but they have outgrown it since their
congregation is getting bigger. The girls stayed here
while we worked on the new church. |

 |
This
is the new church building. They have been working on
it for five years. We did a lot of dry walling and mudding
inside the church. |

A lot of work was already completed. Some of the people
from the congregation worked with us each day. |

| This
is the shed that is used for storage. The boys were
stored here during our week of service. |
Here
is the sign showing the days and times of services for the
Church. The church is a Hispanic church and is located
in a Hispanic neighborhood. |

| These
are pictures of Heritage United Methodist Church. We
stayed here on Friday night. It was in Van Buren, Arkansas.
We don't really know the significance of the shoes in the
tree, but it was an interesting sight that some of us saw. |

| On
Sunday, we worshiped with the people of San Pablo UMC.
Above, Pastor Munos is performing a baptism. We also
learned "La Alegria" which is a Spanish song and
sang it to the congregation. They really enjoyed
it and asked us to sing it again later in the week. |

Sunday
night we went to a Steak House for supper. This is a
picture of our group. |

|
 |
 |
| |
|
| On
Monday, we began to dig a hole so we could set a basketball
goal there. Notice on the top left picture where the
hole is that Casey and Bethany have started. Then look
at the top right picture. The first hole had to be filled
in because it was too far away from the curb and we had to
start over. This was not an easy task because the ground
was layers of rock (bottom right). |

Who did
we take the trip through?
We took the trip through the Volunteers
In Mission (VIM) program of the United Methodist Church. |
| |
|
Why
do we go on mission trips?
To share the love of Christ by service through word and
deed.
To learn about other people and cultures, remembering that
all of us are created in God's image.
To grow together as a body of believers, strengthening one
another in faith and building relationships within our group. |
